SEETEUTEL SAILS FROM AUCKLAND. “NATION OF GENTLEMEN” (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Last Night. After having been in the Dominion for two and a-half months Count von Luckner and the Countess sailed .this morning in the auxiliary schooner yacht Seetcufel for Sydney in continuation of their world cruise. Enthusiastic farewells were extended at the wharf before their departure, there being a large assembly of friends and wellwishers. “From the bottom of my heart I want to thank the people of New Zealand, which is indeed a country of j gentlemen, for their wonderful hospi- | tality, ” the Count said before departure. “I will long to come back again; indeed, I must, for I am leaving my heart here.” As the Seeteufel was a few chains from the wharf proceeding under her own power, Count von Luckner personally lowered the swastika flag from the mainmast for a moment In a salute. The New Zealand flag still hung from the foremast. On board were two young Auckland radio announcers, Colin Moore and Michael Hutt, who have joined the company on the cruise. On the wharf as the Seeteufel left was her photographer. H. G. Oesterreich, who will rejoin her in Sydney in five or six weeks’ time. Oesterreich is going to Rotorua to continue on the preparation of a film in which he proposes to show the struggles of the original settlers in preparing the foundation for a young nation. In Rotorua various incidents with the early settlors and Maoris will be recreated and filmed. The drama in the early stages will largely concern three Europeans and several Maori characters. He may be able to show the film in Auckland before he leaves. His intention is to market, the film in Germany.
