PROGRESS RESULTS (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Last Night. The second night’s play in the New Zealand badminton championships was witnessed by a large nuniDer of spectators, who were treated to a number of spectacular and exciting matches. P. Hawkinsworth, Dominion champion, encountered serious opposition to-night from H. C. Dillon (Otago), whom he defeated 15 —13, 15 —12. The Otago man was particularly lit and made the champion fight for every point. D. Reid, of Wellington, who defeated W. Abbott, Otago champion, on the first night, scored a second vittory by defeating G. R. Dickinson (Otago), the score being 15—6, IS—-15. J. Spedding (Taranaki) had a hard fight against J. Swan (Otago), but emerged wanner after playing a third set.

E. Stark (Otago), who deefated G. A. Pearce (Wellington) on the first night, scored a second win by defeating the local player, E. Galbraith. • In the women 's singles, Miss ,T. Barnsay (Auckland) went down to Miss N. Fleming (Wellington), 11—I, 11-6. Misses M. Edmondson (Auckland) and M. Kerr (Otago) and Mrs. P. Hawkinsworth (Taranaki) are other undefeated players in the singles championship.
