DANGER IN MEXICO. BIG SLUMP IN SHARES (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) Received Tuesday, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 24. As a sequel to the increasingly unfavourable position foreign oil companies in Mexico, the most important of which, Mexican Eagles, has slumped 50 per cent, on the Stock Exchange in the past few weeks, the British Government is considering making representations to Mexico. It is feared the present concessions will not be renewed upon expiry as Mexico aims at the nationalisation of the entire industry.
