FREE MONEY FOR BUILDING HOMES.
MANAWATU CO-OPERATIVE BUILDING SOCIETY.
A general meeting of the Manawatu Co-operative Building Society was held Inst evening for the purpose of deciding appropriations by ballot. Mr G. B. Cope presided, and Messrs G. Sowerby and G. H. Neal were elected scrutineers. Ballots were held in all groups, with the following results:—Group 1, W. G. Foster (Palmerston North), £700; group 2, C. S. Capill (Taihape), £500; group 3, Mrs C. R- Desmond (Wellington), £500; group 4, L. H. Barrow (Palmerston North) £3OO, and T. Fleming (Pahiatua) £200; group 5, Mrs M. Franks (Palmerston North), £700; group 6, Mrs M. Geary (Palmerston North) £3OO, and C. Grover (Palmerston North) £200; group 7, W. D. Woodham (Palmerston, North), £SOO. The chairman announced that the new group was filling rapidly, and it was expected that it would be complete before the end of May, fifty shares j having been allotted during the past ! week. He hoped that the public would I recognise the advantages of member-1 ship and enrol while the opportunity I offered.
