INFANTILE PARALYSIS EPIDEMIC. SUSPECT YESTERDAY FROM ASHHURST PALMERSTON N., This Day. The admission to hospital yesterday of a boy,. 10 years of age, from- Ashhurst, as an infantile paralysis suspect, brought.to'a sudden end the congratulations which the district was receiving in. -having experienced a whole week with no signs of-fresih cases. It is still, confidently hoped, however, that the disease is on the wane. The Aslhhurst school will be closed as from to-day us a result of this case. KSS ;. .'. 19, YOUNG MAN ADMITTED TO GREYMOUTH HOSPITAL GEEYMOTJTH, Last Night. A further case of infantile paralysis a single man aged 27, was admitted to the Greymoutih Hospital "this evening. The patient has moderately severe paralysis in the right arm. ANOTHER MASTERTON CASE MASTERTON, Last Night. A girl of 4£ years from Masterton was admitted to the hospital on Saturday as a suspected 'case of infantile paralysis. This is the first case in the district for a week. There as now 11 children in hospital, seven having been diagnosed as positive cases. BOY DISCHARGED FROM HOSPITAL WAIPUKURAU, April 24. three-year-old boy admitted to theWaipukurau Hospital from Porangahau on March 20, suffering with slight paralysis of the arm, was discharged from the institution to-day. The other case, a Waipukurau girl, aged, seven, is progressing satisfactorily. There have been no further admissions and no cases have been reported throughout the district. -FIRST DEATH IN WAIKATO. HAMILTON, This Day. The first death from infantile paralysis in the district occurred at the Waikato Hospital this morning when a Hindu boy, aged two, succumbed. He was admitted from Tewhaiti, East Coast, sixteen days aao.
