Opinions that the tax at present imposed on smaller racing clubs in New Zealand is grossly unfair and that it is killing them were expressed at the annual meeting of the Wairoa Racing Club.

It. was decided to write to the Minister of Internal Affairs asking that smaller clubs be given some relief and suggesting that the position nngnt be met by the adoption of a system that in eases where £IO,OOO or less is put through the totalisator the first £SOOO bo free of taxation.
