The French Government has prepared rigorous measures to enforce acceptance of its policy. M. Faure, Minister without portfolio, referring to the “Baby Bond” appeal, said if the loan does not bring what we hope we shall mobilise the people’s fortunes. Businessmen throughout France, by telegraph, have been summoned, by the Minister to attend a meeting to discuss the rising cost ot living and they will be required to explain the price increases which threaten to defeat the benefits of the new Labour legislation. Prosecutions are being launched against profiteers.
