Royal Australian College Of Surgeons

ANNUAL CONFERENCE OF N.'Z. DIVISION. (By Telegraph—Press Association) AUCKLAND, Last Niglu. A review of the progress made by fiio Koval Australasian College of Surgeons in the past year was given by Sir Louis Barnett, chairman of the New Zealand division of the college, at the annual business meeting which brought to a close the annual conference of the division. Sir Louis said the Fellows of the college now numbered 018, including 127 New Zealand surgeons. The college building at Melbourne had been opened with full ceremony at the annual meeting in March by the presi dent of the Royal College of Surgeons. England, and was now fulfilling its useful function as headquarters. New Zealand Fellows had decided to make a gift of a piece of furniture and a quantity of puriri timber had been gent to Melbourne to be made into a library table bearing an appropriate inscription. Two or three New Zealand trees were also to be sent for planting in the college garden. The next annual meeting of the college as a whole would be he’d in Sydney from March IS to 21 and would be opened by Sir Hore-Ruthven, Gover-nor-Gcncral-Designate of the Commonwealth, while the succeeding annual meeting of the college in January, 1027. would be held in Auckland.
