LEVIN FIRE BOARD.
QUARTERLY MEETING-. The quarterly meeting of the Levin Fire Board was held at the Fire Station ( this afternoon, the chairman, Mr F. E. Parker, presiding. There was a full attendance of members, Messrs W. Jenson, J. C. Milnes, A. H. Gierke, L. A. Hutton and F. P. Walkley (secretary). APPRECIATION. The Ilorawhenua Electric Power Board wrote stating that at a meeting of that body very appreciative refer--ence had been made of the Brigade’s work in confining the fire to the store building. The Board enclosed a cheque for £5 5s to go towards the social fund of the Brigade. The remarks were favourably commented on by members of the Board. FIREMAN LEAVING THE DISTRICT 'On account of his leaving the district, Fireman 6. Mudgway tendered his resignation as from December 2°th. • On the motion of Air CTerko, seconded by Mr Hutton, the resignation was .accepted with regret and it was decided to express appreciation to Fireman Mudgway for the service he has rendered. ACCOUNTS. Payment of accounts amounting to £B-1 18s Kid were confirmed and accounts amounting to £(s(i 11 Id passed for payment. SEASONAL GREETINGS. At the conclusion of the business tho chairman staled that at this time of the year one’s thoughts turned to one’s friends and it was fitting to record greetings to one’s friends. It was pleasing to him to wish the members, tho Brigade, Fire Police, and the Press, a very happy Christmas season and a bright New Year. The outlook ahead, said Mr. Parker, was brighter than it had been for some time and he was pleased to see that the unemployed were receiving a concession to give them that little extra cheer. These sentiments were reciprocated by members.
