Small Boy's Ordeal

AT.T, NIGHT IN THE BUSH

Eay Lyall Todd, the seven-year-old eon of Mr. G. Todd, farmer, of Law's road, Dannevirke, had an unenviable experience, having spent Monday night in some native bush, not very far from his parents' home. Shortly after 5.30 on Monday evenng the boy went to gather kindling wood on the bank of the Tamaki stream, and as he did not return a search was made for him without success. Believing that he had fallen into the stream the police were notified and yesterday morning two constables dragged the stream. There was a sigh of relief when a constable found the little fellow in a piece of native bush alive, but in a dazed condition. He was taken to his home, where he is receiving medical attention. It is surmised that he fell and struck' an obstacle rendering him semi-j conscious.
