GRAPE PICKERS STRIKE.
PEARS OP TROUBLE SPREADING. WINE HARVEST THREATENED. .(By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright) (Received This Day, 9.20 a.m.) PARIS, September 10. Forty thousand grape pickers in the Narbonne district have struck. The men are demanding S/- per day and the ■women 5/3, with a daily wine ration of ilv« pints for men and 31 for women. The vigaerous offered nine pence ’ess and no wine ration.
It is feared the strike will spread threatening the whole wine harvest.
