RACEHORSE DISAPPEARS.
PADLOCKED DOOR FORCED.
WIDESPREAD ENQUIRIES FAIL TO REVEAL ANY TRACE. (By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, This DayThe racehorse, Prince Colossus, entered for the President’s Handicap at Ellerslie to-day has disappeared. The horse, which has been trained at Cambridge, was lodged at the stables in Campbell Road, near Ellerslie. When jthe atendant went to get him yesterday morning to give him track work on the course, he found that the padlock on the stable door had been forced and the horse was missing. The other horses in the stable had not been interfered with. The police wAe informed and detectives have since been searching, but without result. Prince Colossus is a five-year-old gelding, leased by Mr A. Cameron, of Hamilton, from Mrs M. C. Keaney, who formerly raced him.
