WELLINGTON CITY MISSION.

NORTH ISLAND TUG-O-WAR CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Last night at the Town Hall, Wellington, Koputaroa competed in the championship of the light weight contest and by finally defeating “Healey’s” team have qualified tor the final, after a very good contest in which the “Healey’s” team were far superior than when they competed in Levin but were not. quite good enough to defeat our champoins.

To avoid the Koputaroa team having to travel down to the contests at "Wellington too frequently, the Tng-o-war Committee, at Wellington, have decided that they would pull the light and heavyweight teams in Wellington up to the semi-finals and then Koputaroa would pull the semi-finalists of bod weights to qualify for the finals. The position is now that Koputaroa luv\ o qualified for both the light ami heavyweight finals which will be decided at Wellington on Saturday night next, the 141 h September. All ' followers of sport, will wish the Koputaroa team every success in both events and if they win or lose the team will hold their reputation of fine sportsmanship, which has made them so popular everywhere.
