Merging of White And Black Races

POSSIBILITY SUGGESTED BY BRITISH SCIENTIST (By Telegraph-Press Assn.-Copyright). Received Friday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Sept. 7. The suggestion that the white and "black races of the world may yet he merged into one race was propounded hy Lord Raglan at the British Association meeting. He recalled an American professor’s statement that there was perhaps not a single purebred negro in the United States and that many whites also had a proportion of negro blood. “I believe it follows,” he added, “that before many centuries elapse there won’t be a single person in the United States without a certain proportion of negro blood. Although the merging of the two races won’t happen in/Africa nearly so soon, tne Europeanisation of Africa is going on and nothing can stop it.”
