OTAKI PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the committee w r as held recently, those present being: Dr. Atmore (President, in the ■chair), Mesdamos Cockrell and Milne (Vice-Presidents), Higgins, Morton, Meßeth, Nieolson and Rule, and Miss Avery. Apologies were received from Mcsdam.es Fiebig, Francis, Kilmister and Miss Gilmer. The minutes of the previous monthly meeting were read and confirmed and accounts passed for payment. Nurse Sell's report for the month of March was also read. Among the receipts for the month of March were £7/10/10 from Paekakariki Sub-station —the result of their annual effort; the half-yearly Government sub- | sidy, £57 15s lOd; Waikanac's halfyearly levy £9 12s including expenses; 5s from Otaki Carnival .Committee representing trophy won by the Society for their entry in procession; and a donation of £2 10s from the Hutt County Council. It was decided that one half the Hutt County donation be forwarded to Porirua, Coastal Towns Branch. It was agreed that the hour of the monthly committee meetings be changed from 2.30 p.m. to 2.45 p.m. Mrs. Chatwin's resignation from the committee was accepted with regret. Mrs. Allan wrote asking that she might have copies of the Plunket Baby patterns to sell, without commission.— Decided that Mrs. Allan be supplied with three copies of Plunket Baby pat-
terns, these to be replenished when necessary. Circulars from head office, Dunedin, were read and discussed. It was decided to hold the annual general meeting on Friday, May 18th. or alternatively, Friday, May 25th, and to invite Dr. Martin Tweed, Medical Advisor to the Council, to be the speaker. It was agreed that in order to save expense, the report and balancesheet be not printed in booklet form. Further arrangements re annual meeting were discussed. Money boxes returned: Mrs. Chatwin 6s 9d, Mrs. Faith 5s 4d. Donation: Mr. O. J. D'Ath 10s.
