Baltic and the White Sea Linked
SOVIET REWARDS CONVICT LABOURERS Received Sunday, 7 p.m. MOSCOW, Aug. 5. The Soviet lias amnestied 12,000 prisoners, reduced the sentences of 59,000 engaged on the construction of the Baltic-White Sea Canal, and awarded the coveted Order of Lenin to seven officials, for securing completion in record time. The canal, named Stalin, was built in J 9 months.
