MANAWATU HUNT

MORNING AND AFTERNOON RUNS ON SATURDAY.

A full day's outing was held by the Manawatu Hunt on Saturday, and there were good followings on both occasions. In the morning the throwoft' was at Papaitonga, and the run took place firstly over the properties of Mrs J. Hammond Murray and Mr W. Whiley. The horses were then walked down the road, after ja&tich the scent was followed over Mr J. Kilshy's property, the end of the run being in the vicinity of the Ohau Hall, in which a tasty light luncheon was served by the ladies' committee. The afternoon meet was at Mr A. M. Colquhoun's, at Muhunoa East, and the hounds were followed over Mrs Kirkcaldie's property and back again, the "kill" being at Mr . Colquhoun's. Each run was under the charge of the Deputy-Master, Mr J. Kilsby, on Magill; and the huntsman was Mr J. J. Waller, on Caro. The Master, Mr L. 11. Collinson, was 1 a 4 visitor in the afternoon.

The drag for the morning run was laid by Mrs R. S. Mitchell,/on Prince), Miss P. Brown (Crackle)?* and Mr E. C. Brown (Marcel). Messrs J. Bowler (Fancy Mixture) and 'I. Bertram (Tommy) were the whips; and the followers were: Messrs H. Piper (Toprail), R. Smith (Hunting Boy), R. Garrett (Mossrose), H. O. Whitehouse (Red Count), Jock Easton, Ron Brown (Olympic), W. Gorman (Red I'op), C. Brickland (Valencia), Miss Swainson (Duchess), Miss M. Webb (Brown Johnnie), Messrs R. Mexted (Peggy), J. Taylor (Lucky Hit), AV. Bradbury (Ahumai), I. Bradbury (D'arkie), E. Locke (Otauru Kid), Dr. S. J. Thompson (Baron Bruno), Miss Kirkcaldie (Motuiti), and Mr J. Blenkhorn (Moutoa King).

For the course followed in the afternoon the drag was laid by Miss M. Kirkealdie (on Motuiti), Mr R. C. Brown (Marcel), and Mr R. Garrett (Mossrose). Messrs J. Bowler (Fancy Mixture) and W. iSwainson (Duchess) were the whips;..and the followers were Mrs R. Mitchell '(Prinqe), 'Miss P. Brown (Graekle), Miss M. Webb (Brown Johnnie), Miss J.
