MANAWATU HUNT CUP WON BY TROUBLE.
THRASHER BEATS JUGGLE IN LEVIN HANDICAP. INTERESTING RACING ON HEAVY TRACK. The Manawatu Hunt Club’s totalisator meeting, held at Awapuni on Saturday, proved a great success. Heavy rain fell- on Friday night and on Saturday morning, but the skies had cleared by mid-day and the afternoon was delightfully fine. There was a satisfactory attendance of the public and patrons were treated to some interesting sport. The course was in good order but heavy, and the times were slow as a result. . During the day the totalisator handled £2933 5s and the total would have been bigger but for the two-horse race. Results continued from Saturday’s ,issue:— TWO-YEAR-OLD PARADE Prior to the Kiwitea Ha k uirdles the two-year-old parade took place and of a field of eleven which sprinted down the straight, Mr. C. E. Robertson’s Australian-bred filly (Rosewing—Linfrom the McDonald stable was not extended to secure a decisive margin in the distance. Mr. J. Avenell’s Nigger Minstrel —Pleasure colt, Hugo, Mrs. W. Higgins’ Paper Money filly, Aiterglow, and Dr. W. Hunte' Wills’ Lord Qucx filly, Boudoir, were all close up, als Mrs. M. S. Curie’s -Iding, Red Manfred.
