Tennis Stars to Visit New Zealand
FOUR LEADING AMERICANS COMING Received Sunday, 9.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 3. Vines, Allison, van Ryn and Gledhill will represent the United States Lawn Tennis Association on a five months’ tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tasmania and Honolulu, according to an announcement to-day (Friday). They will leave on October 5, accompanied by Mesdames Allison and van Ryn. U.S. National Championship Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m. NEW YORK, Sept. 3. At the Forest Hills National tennis championship Austin (England) deteated Cecil Metz, of Memphis, Tennessee, 6—l, 6—2, 6—l; Wood defeated Arnold fbnes, of Providence, Rhode xsiand, 6—o, 6 —3, 6—l; Avery defeated Frank Goeltz, of Wilkesbarre, Pennsylvania, 6—2, 6—3, 6—2. Allison defeated Giles (New York) 6—3, 6—5, 6 —3.
