To Administer Our Transport Problems

WELLINGTON, Last Night. The appointment of nine of the ten District Licensing Authorities set up under the Transport Licensing Act last session, was announced by the Minister of Transport (Hon. J. G. Coates) to-night. ‘‘ I think,' > said Hon. Coates, ‘ ‘ that the Government has been exceedingly fortunate in securing the services of gentlemen with such wide public experience and ability to administer the transport problems of each district, and I feel sure they will succeed in laying the foundation of reforms in co-ordinating our various transport facilities. ’ ’
The appointments are as follow:
North Auckland. —W. Jones (Whangarci, chairman), F. Jones (Dargavillo), Alfred Yarborough (Hokianga ) Auckland Suburban. —J A. q. Alluin (chairman), E. C. Blomfield (solicitor Auckland), T. Hanna (Takapuna.) ’ East Coast.—F. B. Logan (chairman, Napier), C. M. Matthews (Cook County), M. S. Chambers Jnr. (Havelock North).
Taranaki, etc.—Percy Thomson (Mayor Stratford, chairman), Major A. R. A. Wilson (Bulls), J. c. Rolleston (Te Kuiti).
Wellington—Gr. A. Troup (chairman) W. I. Armstrong (Masterton), Samuel Jickell (Palmerston North.)
