OBITUARY.
OSSIAN PAUL LYNCH. { After an illness which had lasted \ several weeks, Mr Ossian Paul Lynch passed away this morning at his residence, "Emerald Glen," Paekakariki. Mr Lynch was a son of the late Captain Henry Lynch, of the 65th Regiment, and was born at Waiwetu, Lower Hutt, 73 years ago. Some 60 years »ago he came to Paekakariki, where he later entered into a farming partnership with his brother, the late Mr M. JJ. Lynch. After his brother's death he carried on the farm and continued to do 30 right up to. the time of his death. Mr Lynch was a man of sterling worth and integrity, who took the keenest interest in public affairs. Endowed with a facile gift of expression -and an intellect that quickly grasped a proposition and perceived its strength ; or. weakness, he was always listened to Vj vvith close attention in any gathering "in which he took part. He was particularly associated with the work of the Farmers' Union, and was a recognised spokesman for farming interests. -For many years, he held the position of chairman of the Manawatu Provincial Executive, with a seat on the Dominion Council. His kindly manner and toleration made for him many friends and his death will be deeply regretted. Mrs Lynch pre-deceased her husband some three years ago and two sons were killed in the great war. The surviving members of the family are a daughter, . Misis E. Lynch, and two sons,; Messrs Bernard antl Harold liynch.' Mr Henry 'Lynch, of. Victoria Street? is a nephew. A requiem Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church, Otaki, at 10 a.m. on Sunday morning, and" the funeral will leave the church for the Catholic Cemetery at Otaki, at 2 p.m. the same afternoon. . .: .
