Lord Bledisloe Given Only a Month's Notice
FEVERISH PREPARATIONS. MAY HAVE TO SAIL FOR DOMINION IN JANUARY. Received Monday, 7. p.m. LONDON, Dec. 2. In an interview at his Sloane street mansion, where the oak pannelled lib rary is the scene of feverish activity, Lord Bledisloe, entrenched behind bundles of papers, remarked: "I am most busy and am unable to rest even on Sunday." On being asked when he would be departing for New Zealand, he replied: "I do not know. Everything"has been most hurried. Sir Charles Fergusson is leaving in January and maybe, t shall be obliged to sail then. It is usual to warn appointees at least six months beforehand but I was merely given one month's notice. However, I am completely in the hands of the Dominion Office. Whatever I am ordered to do, I shall obey." It is understood that Lord Bledisloe's brother, Major A. H. Bathurst, accompanies him to New Zealand.
