FIRST IN NEW ZEALAND.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A motor lorry which, with its load, weighs over ten tons, must, according to regulation, have six wheels. In the Magistrate's Court yesterday, before Mr E. C. Lcvvey, S.M., Nieman Bros. (Mr Smithson) were fined £2 and costs for having a weight of 12 tonß llcwt. on four wheels, and £3. and costs for having an unlicensed lorry. Mr H. Macintosh, Chief Traffic Inspector, said that the overweight chargo was the first of its kind in New Zealand.
