FIRE TRAGEDY NEAR RANGIOTU.
CHARRED BODIES FOUND IN RUINS OF FARMHOUSE.
PARENTS AND TWO CHILDREN BELIEVED TO HAVE PERISHED.

FOXTON, This Day,
Word was received by the police at about 1 o’clock this afternoon, from some Maoris, that a farmhouse had been destroyed back from the road between Motuiti and Rangiotu, and the charred bodies of the inmates discovered.
The house was owned by Mr Westlake, and the occupants were Mr and Mrs Wright and two children. It is feared that all were burnt.
The police have left to Investigate.
