N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS ALLOTTED TO WAJN GANUI-TARAN AKI CENTRE.

A meeting of the Council of the New Zecaland Amateur Athletic Association was held last night. Mr McVilly presiding. A telegram from the Otago Centre stated that it would be .impossible to hold the New Zealand cycling road championship in that u. drict if a September date was a fiber'. d to. Mr McVilly said he disapproved of the method of hawking championships about the country, and considered that the centres to which the champ’ouslnps wore allotted should carry them out. Mr Bright said ho was certain that Otago could run the race if they wished. °
The event is lo be given to Canterbury, subject to acceptance and to a date not later than October.
Permission was granted to the Wnn-ganui-Taranaki Centre to hold the New Zealand amateur athletic championships on Friday and Saturday, March 14th and loth.
Authority was given to set aside £2O for future overseas tours.
Affiliation was granted to the Kaiapoi Harrier Club. Leslie Bonner, of- Wanganui, was reinstated as an amateur cyclist. Reference "was made by Mr McVilly to some trouble in Auckland through feeling against the president of the Centre, Mr Morton. He said it was to be regretted that Mr Morton’s good work should be forgotten and his mistakes magnified. He expressed the hope that, now that the now Auckland Centre rules had been put in hand, the clubs would do their part in the best interest of amateur athletics.
