Anderson's sawmill, one of th-3 only two remaining -mills in the district, wr, totally destroyed by a fire which broke out about noon on Sunday. A planing mill attached was saved after a, strenuous fight by the brigade. The origin of the outbreak is not known, as no one had been on the premises ' since abouf noon on Saturday. The mill plant was insured in the British Traders' office for £2900. Th 3 plant, however, was a valuable one, and Mr Anderson will be a very heavy loser. The Brigade made a good save of the adjoining railway 'buildings, also of large stacks of valuable timber in the mill-yards. , A very high wind was blowing at the time, and this made the firemen's work particularly difficult.
