SCHOOL GAMES.
VISIT OF PALMERSTON TEAMS. LEVIN SUCCESSFUL IN FCTOTBALL AND BASKETBALL. ' The Palmerston orth Technical School bovs' football team, who met the Levin District High School team on the Park Domain, Levin, this morning, were defeated by 13 points to nil, after a strenuous game. Tries Avere scored by Hudson, Harper and Graham, and two were converted by Roe. Mr E. BeA r an was referee. All the scoring was done in^ the first spell, Avhen Levin Avere playing Avita the Avind. It had been expected that the Palmerston boys would retaliate in some measure in the second half, but they found, the local defence very sound. ! ' The basketball match;. betAveen the Levin District High School girls' team and the Palmerston Technical School team, played on the Levin schoolgrounds, resulted in a rvin for the home team by seven goals to one. 01 the winners' score, six goals Avere obtained by June Hobson and one by Mabel Precious. The teams were under the charge of Miss Yautier (Palmerston) and Miss Milnes (Levin), each of whom refereed of the game. The visiting boys and girls were accompanied by Mr Hancocks, diiectoi of the Technical School, and Mr Stevenson, who had charge of the football team. They thoroughly enjoyed their games, as aa’cll as the hospitality extended to them aftenvards, when they Avere entertained by the local teams at Williams's Tea-rooms. , Next Saturday the Levin D.H.S. girls, will play a team from the PalmerstonNorth High School, the -game com-, mencing at 9 a>m., on the Levin schoolgrounds.
