SIXTY CASES AT AUCKLAND,

Queensland tragedy RECALLED.

(By Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, This Day. Sixty divorce cases are occupying two judges of the Supreme Court.

A tragedy at Tully, Queensland, on September 20th, 1927, was recalled by a case in which Donald. McPherson petitioned for a decree nisi against Amy Wilhclmena Sarah Banks McPherson, on the ground of misconduct with Denis John Moynihan, formerly of Auckland. Counsel for petitioner said Mrs McPherson deserted her husband in January, 1927, went to Australia with Moynihan, and lived with him at Tully and on October 21st, 1927, stood her trial on a charge of wilfully murdering him. Ho was shot through the body with a sporting gun. Self defence was pleaded and the jury returned a verdict of not guilty. Mrs Macpherson had acknowledged her misconduct with Moynihhn. Petitioner was granted a decree nisi and the custody of the two children now in his care.
