VISIT OF FRENCH TEAM.
HUMOURED POSTPONEMENT.

It is understood that a cablegram has been received by the New Zealand Rugby Union announcing that the proposed tour of New Zealand by a French team next year has been cancelled. The matter was referred to the chairman of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mr S. S. Dean, but he stated that he had no announcement to make.
