A request that representatives of the Union be appointed to sit on the Tramway Boards and should receive some payment for their services was made to the Prime Minister to-day by a deputation front the Tramway Employees Federation. Mr Coates, in his reply, indicated that ho could see difficulties ahead, hut would have, the matter inquired into. He would go carefully into the matter and let the Federation know ;he result of his deliberations.
