MAY YET RETAIN CONTROL.

IF STAMBOULISKI CAN AVOID CAPTURE. regular army recruiting. (Received Tuesday, 8.30 p.m.) • PARIS, June 11. The general impression in diplomatic circles Is that the crux of the Bulgarian position is the late of M. Stambouliski. If he evades capture, he may, rally a peasant army far exceeding in number the small regular army. The agrarian unions have 100,000 rifles and many machine guns, as M. Stambouliski chose to maintain a large irregular militia as well as the regular army which ousted him. M. Zancofl, the new dictator, is known to have pronounced pro-Ger-man sympathies, and he has the whole-hearted support of the disbanded Bulgarian army, the men from which are hourly flocking Into Sofia and asking to be enlisted in . the volunteer army. Indeed, the whole country is suddenly suffering from war fever. SEARCH FOR EX-PREMIER. REVOLUTIONARIES’ PEACEFUL INTENTIONS. (Received, Tuesday, 8.30 p.m.) PARIS, June 11. A message from Belgrade shows that M. Stambouliski is still free. The new Government has instituted a big search, with a view to securing his arrest. The country is settling down under the new regime. There are isolated disturbances,,tout nothing of a pretentious character. Sofia is quiet, and the police prevented threatened outbreaks. One report gives the casualties as eighty. The Minister of Commerce expresses the intention of the revolutionaries to remain on the best possible terms with the great Powers and their neighbours.
