Mr Linklater spoke to the fair-sized audience who had turned out on the very, wet night that Saturday was at Rangiotu, and received an excellent hearing. He also expressed regret at Mr Newman’s retirement and took the opportunity of publicly thanking him for what he had done for the district as its member.
