Encouraging Fruitgrowers
ASSOCIATION RESUSCITATED. Steps are being taken to revive the Horowhenua Fruitgrowers' Association, and a meeting wins held in the Century Hall yesterday afternoon for the purpose of "once more putting the Association on a good working basis. There was a very representative attendance and an address was given by Mr ilfi. J. Shelton, general manager of the N.Z. Fruitgrowers' Federation, pointing out the great advantages of combination and unity, which could, only be derived from the gathering of all growers into societies and their affiliation with the Federation. He mentioned that the "Horowhenua Association was one of the foundation societies of the central body, but during the war period its iictivities had practically ceased. He hoped that before long it would again be in full working order. Tho meeting unanimously decided to resume operations and to hold regular meetings ill th© future. The first meeting will be held at Mr J- C. Noili's orchard at Weraroa on a date that will be announced in the "Chronicle"' later. It is hoped that all fruitgrowers will make a point of attending the meeting and endeavouring to put the industry on a good footing.
