TOTAL WRECK-OF THE LADY WYNYARD OFF THE EAST CAPE.
ALL HANDS SAVED. Wb regret to learn, by the arrival of the schooner Munwai on Saturday last, that the well-known cutter LadyWynyard, Captain Tun-ig, which left Napier for the Barrier. viailahia, on the 30th ult has gone ashore off the East Cape, and become' a total wreck. We are happy to add,.all hands were saved. - Por the above meagre intelligence we are indebted to Captain Harris, of the Jluriwai,—the arrival of the schooner Donald M'Lean having brought the hews to Poverty Bay.
MISCELLANEOUS. The Mubtwai.—The schoouer Muriwai, Harris, master, arrived in port at 9 p.m. on Saturday last. She left i overty Biyy on Wednesday; experienced light variable winds tin 20 miles to the southward of Portland Island, at 4 p.m. on Thursday, wlieu it blew hard from the westward. Bore up for Wangawehi, where she anchored at 5 a m. on Friday. On Saturday morning left for Napier, had a light northerly breeze down, and arrived here as above. The Muriwai comes in ballast, and brings two passengers. The schooner Jane has been lifted and repaired at Poverty Bay, and was ready for launching when the.Muriwai left. schooner Tawera left Poverty Bay on the 13th inst., for Auckland. The s.s. Star of the South steamed for Tauranga and Auckland on Saturday morning, with a cargo or cattle, sheep, potatoes, pork, &c., and a few passengers. The s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp, steamed for Southern Ports at 2 p.m. on Tuesday last, with the English Mail via Suez. _The cutter St. Kilda, Burr, master sailed for Wellington, in ballast, on Tuesday last. The schooner Annie, for the coast, sailed on Tuesday last, with general cargo. The cutter Betsy, H. Trimmer, master, which left Napier for the Thames gold-fields about six weeks ago, had not arrived up to latest dates. The s.s. Airedale, Captain Kennedy, arrived at the Manukau at l-20.p.m. on the 11th inst from Taranaki and Southern Ports, she being one day before her usual time. The Auckland cutter Glimpse arrived at Pieton from Hokitika, on the 29th September. ' ’
