Architect Win? Claim PLANS FOR CREMATORIUM (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 10. Alleged infringement of copyright was tho basis of a claim for £250 in the Magistrate’s Court to-day by W. M. Lawry, a Christchurch architect, against the Crematorium Society of Canterbury, Ltd. It appeared from the statement of claim and from the evidence that Lawry was approached by T. L. Jones, electrical engineer, who said he proposed to build a crematorium and, when tho building was commenced, to float a company to take it over. Lawry prepared plans, but the project was not at onco proceeded with. Later a company was formed and the crematorium built, and, Lawry alleged, was built to his plans. Tho Magistrate said it was perfectly clear that Lawry’s plans had been followed and that tho copyright of the plans remained with him. He gave the plaintiff judgment for £l5O, with costs.
