Recent Rains Give Further Confidence PRICES IMPROVE Recent rains gave further confidence in the market for store sheep at Stortford Lodge yesterday when values showed an improvement on last week’s satisfactory price levels. Shorn twotooth wethers predominated to meet with a keen demand. The best entries made to 22/-, while a line showing, exceptional quality and very forward realised 23/-. In the pens of ewes and lambs the ewes were generally aged and low on the mouth, but the lambs were quite well grown, making to 16/4, all counted. Realisations were made as under:— On account of Mr O. Carlson, Anaroa, 253 well-grown shorn twoto’bth wethers, in good store order and hardy, made 22/-. In from Craggy Range, a draft of 495 well-grown early shorn two-tooth wethers, in good store condition, being sound and hardy, made 21/6. On account of Mr D. Wilson, Waimararha, 96 shorn two-tooth wethers, particularly well grown and in fresh forward order, made 22/-. A line of 183 shorn two-too ths, poor- . ly done and not attractive, made 19/4. On account of Mrs Hayes, Mahora,

98 woolly ewes with 85 forward welldone Down cross lambs made 17/4, all counted. A draft of 101 well-grown early shorn fat and forward two-tooth wethers realised 21/4. On account of Mr Athol Williams, “Netherton” Station, 106 shorn medium-grown two-tooth wethers in sound attractive order made 20/9. On account of Mr J. Heeney, Mahora, 77. shorn fat and forward well-framed two-tooth wethers, in extra good order, many of them being good killabfe sorts, made 23/-., A line of 83 fat and forward four-

tooth wethers in good order and quality finished brought 22/5. A line of 66 unshorn fat and forward aged ewes, low in the mouth, made 17/-.
