OBITUARY
Mr. A. W. Newton By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, Nov. 11. The death has occurred of Mr A. W. Newton, who was prominent in business and social circles in Wellington. Mr Newton arrived in New Zealand in 1884. His father, Mr John Newton, established the Caledonian soapworks, and his son later joined him. The basil ness was formed into the company of John Newton and Son, Ltd., in 1903. Mr A. .W. Newton was managing director until hia health caused his relinquishing direct control. He was also consul for Norway until last year.
