LEAGUE ISSUES

France Taking Initiative In

Two Directions

BRITISH DELEGATION

By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright LONDON, Sept. 17.

The “Daily Telegraph” says: “Momentous issues confront the League of Nations, so Britain will be represented by a delegation of 70, including the Rt. Hon. Anthony Eden, Viscount Cranborn, Lord Halifax, the Hon. Malcolm MacDonald and the Hon. W. S. Morrison. Almost every subject on the agenda is controversial.

League reform is expected to be referred to a political committee. Over a dozen Governments, including France, Rtu-sia and blew Zealand, have sent in memoranda on this matter. Britain will state her views in the course of the discussions, but considers reform at present not practical politics.

France has decided to take the initiative in two directions.

(1) Armament limitations. (2) .Improving the disastrous economic situation in Europe.
