BUILDING-PERMIT FEES
New Scale for Hastings
A now schedule of building-permit fees was adopted by tho Hastings Borough Council last evening, when it was decided to delete the present’scale from the by-laws and insert the new schedule. 4- II The new charges aro as follow. — Buildings costing under £25, fee 5/-; £25 and under £5O, 10/-; £5O £lOO, £l, £loo—£2oo, £1 5/-; £2oo—£3oo, £1 10/-; £3oo—£4oo, £2; £4oo—£soo, £2 10/-; £5O0 —£600, £2 10/-; £6O0 —£700, £3; £7oo—£Boo, £3 10/-; £Boo—£9oo, £4; £9oo—£looo, £4 40/-; £looo—£lsoo, £6; £l5OO -£2OOO, £7 10/-; £2ooo—£3ooo, £8 40/-; £3ooo—£4ooo, £10; over £4OOO —A further £1 for each £lOOO or-part 1 hereof. Cr. R. Loach, chairman of the building committee, said that owing to increased building charges and . other costs the present scale of fees did not even pay the cost of the inspections.
