Fast Plane To Be Used In Atlantic Flight
ATTEMPTS ON RECORDS <B» Telegraph—Press assn.—Copyright.) (Received 18, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 17. Mr J. A. Mollison is leaving for New York, and will later attempt his third Atlantic flight in the Bellanca plane named “Flash” which is capable of 270 miles n hour and reputed to be the fastest plane in the world.
He hopes to begin his flight on October 17. He will fly at 20,000 feet, and hopes to reach Croydon from New York in 17 hours. He will later try to break the record from England to Johannesburg, and England to the Cape, after which he will consider plans for a round-the-world flight at the Equator. He is making all these flights alone.
