Mr Michael Head, examiner for the Royal Schools of Music, expects to arrive in Hastings on Tuesday, October 6, and will depart on Monday, October 12. During his stay here Mr Head will examine the candidates who have entered for the practical examination. Ho will also give a concert for members and friends of the local branch of the British Music Society.

Mr W. H. Parr, of the staff of the Christchurch City Council, has been appointed assistant town clerk of Nelson. Mt Parr is at present assistant a.ccountant in the city council’s treasury department. He has been in the employ of the city council for the last 10 years and a-half, before then being in the office of the registrar of Canter bury University College. He will commence work .with the Nelson City Council about the middle of next mouth.
