ENJOYABLE DANCE

St. Matthew’s Parish Happiness and gaiety prevailed at the annual dance of tile members of St. Matthew's parish, which was held last evening in St. Matthew’s Hall, when modern dances were interspersed with old-time valetas, lancers, military two-steps and maxinas, and all were enthusiastically danced by those present. A splendid selection of dance tunes was played by Lew Munro and his orchestra. The hall was most attractively decorated with streamers in blue, green and gold interlaced to form a canopy overhead which was outlined with greenery, while more streamers were suspended from the lattice work to the sides and end of the hall. On the stage were large bowls of chrysanthemums in yellow - shades and brightly coloured autumn foliage. Supper was set out on long tables in the supper-room, where gay bowls of yellow and orange calendulas, cotoneaster berries and dainty nandina leaves were interspersed with taller vases of the same flowers and tiny crystal vases, each filled with one bright calendula and a spray of foliage. A delicious supper was set out on the long tables and was enjoyed by the dancers. During the evening Mr It. Cushing was a capable M.C. The vicar, Canon C.
