DANCE AND SOCIAL
Jolly Party in Hastings A very bright and jolly evening was held in the Barrio Studio, Market street, on Monday evening when at the invitation of Misses Joyce and Ngaire Symonds a number of young folk gathered together to enjoy an informal dance and social evening. The guests were received by the hostesses, Miss Joyce Symonds, who wore a very pretty frock of sky-bluo organdie, daintil- trimmed with handmade organdie flowers in pastel tonings, and having softly puffed sleeves, and Miss Ngaire Symonds, who wore a shot pink taffeta frock, the skirt gradually flared from the waist and trimmed with velvet flowers on tho skirt and corsage. A shoulder cape of panne velvet to tone was worn. Excellent items were given di ring the evening by Miss Constance Dewson, recitations, Mrs Douglas quttnrland, vocal solos, and Mr Horace Norton, violin solos. The duties of AI.C. were very capably carried out by Mr Alan Litchfield, and excellent music was supplied for tho dances, games, and items by Ah Lew Munro. Dancing interspersed with games and competitions continued until 1 o’clock, when the happy evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne.” Those present were: Alesdames F.
