TE POHUE DOG TRIALS

A strong wind made weather conditions far from pleasant for the opening of the annual dog trials yesterday of the Te Pohue Club. These are being held on grounds kindly lent by Rukumoana Station, opposite the (Jhurakura turn-off, Te Pohue. Entries for the various events art numerous, with about 30 in Class 1, long-head. This event was not completed yesterday and will continue this morning. The trials will conclude to-morrow. The club’s annual ball will be held this evening at the Te Pohue Hall. The joint secretaries, Messrs K. H. Ruddenklau and H. McKinnon, have organised these trials most efficiently, and they are attracting considerable interest throughout the district. Results of Class 1 and other events completed to-day will be published in the “Herald” to-morrow morning.
