FAT SHEEP VALUES
Very Little Change at Stortford MODERATE YARDING Very little change iu values from last week for fat sheep took place at Stortford Lodge yesterday. There was only a moderate yarding, which included some extra prime entries. The top price was 28/6, for a pen of extra prime quality 2-tooth wethers, which was an outstanding entry, being purchased by Mr J. B. Fletcher. On account of Tauroa Station, a draft of prime ewes, well selected, made to 21/-. Heavy well finished lambs realised 24/6. Several pens ot medium ewes ranged from 16/- to 17/-. Plain and aged sorts sold rather better than was expected. Values were attained as under: — On account of Tauroa Station, a draft of prime quality well woolled heavy ewes made from 20/- to 21/-. A pen of 28 large framed heavy early shorn wethers made 25/11. A bid of 21/- was offered for a pen of 16 heavy prime quality ewes. A pen of 30 similarly finished ewes made 20/-. The same price was secured for a pen of 33 equally well-finished heavy ewes. _ A pen of six black-face well-grown heavy prime quality lambs made 25/4. Four early shorn, large framed, extra prime quality, heavy 2-th wethers made 28/6. A pen of similar prime quality 2-th wethers, of slightly lighter weights, offered on account of the same vendor, made 27/-. A pen of eight unshorn prime quality heavy lambs made 23/-. A single prime heavy woolly Southdown lamb made 25/-. A pen of 67 aged ewes of uneven quality, several of which were light finished, made 16/4. A pen of medium finished early shorn ewes made 17/3, Four prime quality heavy wethers made 24/-. Down from Rissington, a pen of 13 early shorn medium finished ewes made 17/-.
