TIKOKINO SPORTS CLUB

Balance Sheet Read From Our Own Correspondent. TIKOKfNO, April 21. A largely attended meeting of the members of the Tikokino Sports Club was held on Saturday night in the War Memorial Hall, there being present, Messrs G. Limbrick (chairman), J. Vestey, J. Sullivan, B. Kood, A. Parkinson, F. Magnusson, A. Hutt, E. Bichardson, F. L. Forde, J. Parkinson, J. Ellmers, G. Crawley, N. Collins, N. Green, E. Richardson, T. O’Rourke, and T. Jackson (secretary). The interim balance-sheet presented by the secretary showed a substantial improvement on last year's workings, the gate receipts on Easter Saturday (£150), establishing a record ijor the club, and a 40 per cent, increase on last year's takings. Entries in each event also showed a big improvement. Several suggestions were put forward and adopted as recommendations for the incoming committee. Loud applause greeted the statement of the chairman that, owing to the Barton Cup being won outright, Mr T. Dunn had generously come forward and offered to replace it. It was resolved to send a letter of appreciation to the donor. The secretary w>as voted an honorarium equivalent to last year’s, several members speaking in eulogistic terms of his capabilities as secretary of the club. Mr Jackson briefly returned thanks. Owing to this being the last meeting of the 1936 committee, the chairman took the opportunity of extending his thanks to the committee for the way they had worked and stood loyally by him, the result being a record meeting. A vote of thanks to the chair closed the meeting.
