The Opposition will vigorously attack it on domestic issues, and it will also have to meet widespread discontent among its own followers on questions of Imperial, foreign and defence policy.
A strong section will not bo content until it is categorically assured that territories at present under British rule will under no circumstances be ceded to a foreign Power.
The overwhelming opinion in the House is opposed to the transfer of native peoples to tho Nazis. The House is most anxious lest the AngloEgyptian negotiations result in a compromise under which important strategic centres would be evacuated by the British forces.
Tho Conservatives are also closely watching future foreign trade agreements, especially Danish and Argentine. They consider that more attention should be paid to Home agriculture in the interests of defence, even at the expense of export trades.
