Tikokino Branch Meeting From Our Own Correspondent WAIPUKURAU, April 21. The first annual meeting of the Tikokino branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held last evening, Mr E. 11. T. Carlyon beiug iu the chair. Prior to the commencement of the general business, the district organiser, Mr I. S. Gardiner, gave a short talk on •he activities aud aikpntages of the union, more particularly in relation to the securing of beneficial legislation, and the providing of information to farmers.
The following officers were elected, subject to their consent: —Chairman, Mr E. R. T. Carlyon; committal, Messrs E. R. T. Carlyon, F. Butler, J. Bullock, D. Eddy, F. Franklin, A 8. Goodwin, A. V. Rumball, T. O’Rourke, 1. 11. Williams, A. 8. Hodd, F. Addis Patterson, W. T. Addis, F. Addis, 11. H. Low, E. A. Roach, C. L. I. Haden and G. Limbriek. Mr E. 11. T. Carlyon was appointed urovincial delegate. Messrs G. Limbriek and D. Eddy were elected vice-chairmen, with Mr E. A. Roach as secretary-treasurer. Mt 8. K. Gilbertson, a member of the provincial executive, was present and made a few encouraging remarks about the formation of the Tikokino branch, suggesting the advisability of having suitable lectures on various subjects ofagricultural interest. It was pointed out during the evening that branch formation made no difference to financial arrangements, as subscriptions were all the same and were all paid to provincial headquarters.
