Phillips—Broadhead

Madonna lilies, pale pink miniature dahlias and maidenhair fern were the artistic decorations at St. John’s Church, Highfield, recently, when Thora, elder daughter of Mr. and Airs. Harold Broadhead, Nelson Terrace, was married to Ivor, only son of Airs. S. Phillips, both of Swansea, South Wales. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. S. Leach, and Aliss Sylvia Budge was at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming frock of ivory tulle over satin, made with oval neck-line formed with bands of satin fagotted together, and finished with a spray of orange blossom. The skirt was composed of tiny frills edged with silver thread, the frills being repeated in the threequarter lengh bell-shaped sleeves. The wide belt of stitched white sttin was clasped with a diamante buckle. Her embroidered tulle veil fell from a Aladonna cap which was encircled with orange blossoms and her sheaf of freezias completed a charming toilette. Miss Betty Broadhead, the bride’s sister, was the only bridesmaid and Air. Keith Storey was best man. • Aliss Broadhead’s frock of lettuce green needle-run lace was cut on slim fitting lines and featured a neckline similar to that of the bride’s. The satin bands and faggoting were finished with a posy of pastel tinted flowers, and the three-quarter length Russian sleeves were faggoted to match. The flared skirt was faggoted at the knee with bands of green satin. She wore a wreath composed of flat green flowers, in her hair and carried a shower bouquet of pink and white begonias and maidenhair fern.

Air. and Airs. Ivor Phillips’ future home will be in Napier.
