WEDDING
Hawkes —Gwyn Tho wedding was solemnised at the Baptist L'liurcn, Hastings, last evening ol Hilda May, secuuu daughter i, i Jir, and Mrs. J. Gwyn, Allerton road, Hastings, and Frederick Hubert, sou ot Major and Airs. H. Hawues, or Ha. were. The Kev. C. B. Boggis officiated at tho ceremony and Air. W. rveau presided at tuo organ. During the service too hymn "The Voice That breathed (J er Halen,” was sung. lue urine, woo was given uway by her father, chose a weuding gown 01 delphinium blue moss crepe having a cowled collar lormuig points at tuo back and finished in iront with silver braid trimming, the sleeves were cowled above the elbows and lined with silver and finished at the wrist with tiny buttons matching those on the uacK ot the bodice. A silver and blue plaited girdle with hanging tassels denned the waist and she wore silver sandal shoes. She wore a halo of orange blossoms and pale blue velvet Howers mounted on silver lame and carried a bouquet ol white flowers with touches ot palest pink and blue and maidenhair iern. The only bridesmaid, Miss Dora Hirst, wore a gown ot petal pink matelasse having putted sleeves and a cape edged with a frill. The sash was of a deeper shaded pink velvet and she wore a pink velvet bandeau. Her bouquet was composed of shaded pmk carnations and fern and she wore the bridegroom’s gilt, a crystal necklace. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. (J. Haw’kes, the bridegroom's brother. As Mr. Hawkes is captain of the Boys’ Brigade a parade of the boys formed a guard ot honour outside the church. After the ceremony a very happy reception was held at the .Ritz tea-rooms where the guests were received by Mr. and Mrs. Gwyn. Mrs. Gwyn wore a firock of navy blue marocain with floral trimming and a black velour hat. Her posy was composed of red flowers. Major and Mrs. Hawkes assisted to receive the guests, Mrs. Hawkes wearing the army uniform and carrying a brightly shaded posy. When the bride and bridegroom left for their honeymoon the bride travelled in a navy blue ensemble with touches of lemon and pale blue and her navy hat had a pale blue quill. She wore navy gloves and carried a navy and white purse. Among the guests were Mr. and Mrs. A. Hill (Wellington), sister and brother-in-law of the bride, Mrs. Hill wearing a brown figured frock with plain brown swagger coat and brown hat; Mrs. E. Palmer, sister ot tho bride; Miss Kera Hawkes, aunt of the bridegroom; Mr. V. Gwyn, Mr. D. Hawkes, Rev. and Mrs. C. B. Boggis, Mrs. Jackson, Mr. and Mrs. 8. Hickmott, Mr. and Mrs. J. Thorpe, Mr. and Mrs. F. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. Sutherland, Mrs. Sims and Miss Elma Sims, Mr. and Mrs. J. Cambridge, Mrs. Baker and Miss Dulcie Baker, Mr. and Mrs. L. Millar, Mrs. Halstead, Misses Howes, N. Robson, J. Gigg, 0. Nelson; Messrs. H. Thompson, S. Baker, M. Bewley, P. Thetford, D. Mackie.
